"Robosapien: Rebooted": WowWee's Robosapien™ Robot Gets a Starring Role in a Feature Film

March 25th, 2008

HONG KONG - March 25, 2008 - WowWee Group Limited, an Optimal Group company (NASDAQ: OPMR), today announced that it has concluded an agreement that would give the producing team of Avi Arad (Arad Productions) and Steven Paul (Crystal Sky Pictures) the right to produce a feature-length motion picture inspired by WowWee's Robosapien robot. In collaboration with WowWee, Arad has developed the lead character for the film from graphic designs created by WowWee and Arad.

The Robosapien robot is the recipient of over 30 national and international toy awards and recognitions and has been featured countless times in the media with notable write-ups in TIME Magazine, Newsweek, The New York Times, ABC News, and U.S. News & World Report.

The movie, titled "Robosapien: Rebooted," is set to combine a compelling live action story with the most advanced computer-generated imagery (CGI). One of the most popular entertainment robots in the world with global sales of more than 5 million units, the Robosapien robot was the first commercially- available biomorphic robot - a fusion of technology and personality - and the inspiration for the principal screen character in the film.

Under the agreement, WowWee will have the exclusive worldwide right to market toy merchandise associated with the film and its characters, and would receive a share of the income from all other merchandising associated with the film.

Avi Arad, former CEO and Chairman of Marvel Studios, is renowned in the toy industry and was a driving force behind the enormously successful resurgence of movies based on comic book characters. As an executive producer and producer, his credits include Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man 3 (Columbia Pictures), which set an industry record for opening day and opening weekend box office receipts and was the top-grossing film of 2007; X-Men, X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand (Twentieth Century Fox); The Hulk (Universal Pictures); Daredevil (New Regency); The Punisher (Lions Gate Entertainment); Blade, Blade II and Blade: Trinity (New Line Cinema); Elektra (Twentieth Century Fox); The Fantastic Four and its sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (Twentieth Century Fox); Bratz: The Movie (Lionsgate); and Ghost Rider (Columbia Pictures). Mr. Arad's current live-action feature film slate includes Iron Man (Paramount Pictures) and The Incredible Hulk (Universal).
