Certified Compatible is the stamp of approval on songs that will best perform with the Pro Series. Most songs can be downloaded to your instrument but only those that are Certified Compatible take full advantage of your instrument’s play-along functionalities.
The Pro Series is designed to play most songs. The Certified Compatible song list will show you the songs that provide you with the best play experience. The Certified Compatible song list will also show you whether a song will be best played on the Paper Jamz Pro microphone, guitar or drums. Simply take a look at the instrument icons in the “Best With” column next to the song name.
Playing a Certified Compatible song using your Paper Jamz Pro instrument will allow you to:
For Guitars
- Rhythm mode: Control the rhythm of your favorite songs for performances that are always in the right key
For Drums
- Freestyle mode: Lay your own rocking beats over your favorite songs
For Mics
- Use the built-in vocal effects to sing like your favorite artists or make your favorite songs sound like you think they should
On the “Get More Music” link via the My Library page, click the lyrics link listed next to the song name.
Microphones, guitars and drums are all available in the Pro Series. Take a look at the Instrument Showcase to see all available styles.
It’s easy! Just plug one end of the USB cable (included) into your instrument’s mini-USB port and the other end into your computer’s USB port. The app will automatically detect the instrument and display it next to “My Library.”
My Library
“My Library” is your home base for your Paper Jamz Pro app. It includes 9 preloaded songs that can be used to demo all the cool features of your Paper Jamz Pro instrument. All compatible songs you drag into the app from your computer will be listed within “My Library,” and will display:
- the artist name;
- the song name;
- whether a song will be “Certified Compatible” (green check);
- whether a song will simply play on your Pro Series instrument (without a green check);
- the song’s duration; and
- which instrument the song works “Best With” (Microphone, Guitar or Drum).
Here are two simple ways:
1. Drag and drop your files from your computer directly into “My Library.” Within a few seconds, the file transfer will start if the song is compatible.
2. Import files using the “Import Songs” button and your file directory will appear. Select the song from your directory and within a few seconds, the file transfer will start if the song is compatible.
NOTE: When you download a song (from iTunes or Amazon) onto your computer, make sure you put it somewhere where you can easily find it later. This will cut down on your search time for when you want to drag or import it into “My Library.”
Once you’ve purchased a song, find the location of where it’s been downloaded on your computer. Once you find the song file, either drag/drop or import the file to bring it into “My Library.”
Songs that appear bolded within “My Library” indicate that it is a newly added song that has never been synced with your Pro Series instrument.
The green checkmark tells you that a song is “Certified Compatible.” Songs without the green checkmark are not “Certified Compatible.” They will still play on your Pro Series instrument but will not make full use of the instrument’s play-along functionalities.
The app will tell you if the song is “Certified Compatible” or not. If the file format (i.e., M4A or MP3) is supported but not “Certified Compatible,” the song will appear in “My Library.” However, it will be shown without a green checkmark. A song that is not “Certified Compatible” will still play on your instrument (the same way it would play on your MP3 player) but will not be interactive and make use of all your Pro Series instrument’s play-along functionalities.
Some songs are better for singing, guitar playing or drumming. “Best With” tells you for which instrument (microphone, guitar or drums) the song is optimized (designated by the instrument icon listed next to the song name). Regardless, all MP3 or M4A song files can be played on your Pro Series instrument.
Yes, control-click (Mac) or right-click (PC) on the song you would like to remove. You will be shown a menu that will allow you to remove the song.
Each drum and guitar have approximately 4:00 per song slot - resulting in a total of roughly 12 minutes.
Each mic has approximately 4:40 per song slot - resulting in a total of roughly 14 minutes.
Syncing An Instrument
If you do not see your instrument, it is possible you have not yet connected it to your computer via the USB cable provided.
- Unplug/re-plug the USB cable into your instrument’s USB port and unplug/re-plug the other end of the USB cable into your computer’s USB port.
- Make sure both ends of the USB cable (the end connected to the instrument and the end connected to your computer) are pushed all the way into each USB port.

Please note that times are approximate.
You can replace songs (which will remove songs) by dragging a new song from “My Library” and dropping it onto the designated slot.
